Speeding tickets in Florida typically involve fines imposed by the Court. There are also points on your driving record, starting at 3 points for most minor incidents, with 4 points for higher speeds and some other charges, and 6 points in certain cases usually involving a crash. Traffic matters are handled by Florida Traffic Courts. We have represented many FL drivers on tickets in New York State. It's our understanding that tickets from other states, including New York, will show up on a Florida driving record. When hiring a New York traffic lawyer, make sure the attorney is familiar with the FL point system. Many lawyers will get you a reduction that counts for more points in Florida than a simple speed.
