Speeding tickets in Massachusetts can be cost you a lot depending on the circumstances. In addition to fines and penalties imposed by the Court, your insurance rates may go up and this is usually the thing most people worry about.

Traffic matters in MA are handled by Massachusetts Traffic Courts.
For NY drivers, New York does not recognize most out-of-state tickets (except, strangely, from Ontario and Quebec). On the other hand, many states do recognize out-of-state tickets, and they do affect insurance. New Jersey, for example, recognizes all out-of-state moving violations as 2 points.
The MA RMV indicates that it does recognize out-of-state tickets and that they will count against you. However, we have heard from others that out-of-state tickets don't show up. You should check with your insurance agent or the RMV to find out more.
