Speeding tickets in New York City are handled differently than in other parts of New York State. In most of the rest of New York State, traffic matters are handled in town courts (as well as village and city courts). NYC has special "administrative courts" handling speeding and other traffic violations. This is called the Traffic Violations Bureau.

Unlike most other parts of the state, there is rarely any deal-making on tickets in NYC. It tends to be either win or lose. Sometimes lawyers can still make deals. In other cases police officers may not testify well and so we win a fair number of cases.
